This is the way that I've done it. Set up the newsgroup in hamster that you want to have the mail posted to. In the mailfilt.hst file add the following to the [*] section. I just put all my rules in the global section. #------------------------------------------------------------------- #--Hamster email group =postto(hamster.emaillist) Any-Recipient: "[email protected]" #------------------------------------------------------------------- You can check out the hamster help file for mailfilt.hst options and format. D -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2005 11:56 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Mail-to-News I need to keep track of a heavy-traffic mailing list, and I remember that it's possible to convert e-mails into news format (so that they can be read by a newsreader in threaded fashion) by some trick in Hamster. I have been a Hamster user for years and, years ago, I implemented such a converted list in my computer. But I forgot how to do it, and cannot find any reference among my old files (I have since changed systems, and I am likely to have disposed of them) I did some research on the Web, and found a couple of pointers, plus the electronic translation text in the Hamster FAQs. I am afraid it hasn't been clear enough. I would really appreciate guidance or, if this were too troublesome or not possible, direction to a website that is a bit clearer than the ones I've found, if it exists. There is some urgency about this project, so I would like to apologise in advance if I seem pushy. Regards to all, RA -- To post a message: [email protected] To unsubscribe: [email protected] Yahoo!
