I checked the packets with tcpdump: no packets after the
ones from port 443. So i guess i do not get the past the auth.

This may be something in kernel 2.2 : yahoo works, but
jabber does not allow registration. Console gives:

type: jabber:x:delay
unrecognized packet: 0 received
unrecognized packet: 0 received
type: jabber:x:delay
unrecognized packet: 0 received
unrecognized packet: 0 received
(nothing is stopped by the firewall)

afterwards it crashes like:

GTK+ version 1.2.10

Hi,

I applied the patch quickly (manually and to the standard
046-17 source i downloaded from the site).
It gets me through the authentification, I get the window
about the unknown nexus.passport certificate and can click
"continue". So far so good.

(going on, it freezes btw, but that may due to be anything
on my system. 2 b cont)

Hey, there was a patch posted on the mailing list about this
a few months ago. It should be available here:
http://colino.net/tmp/msn-auth-fix.diff

Can you try it and let us know if it works. You need to
apply it to CVS.

I never got everybuddy to work with msn, Ayttm version
0.4.6-17 does not work either :

msn.C[2078]:ext_show_error - MSN: Error: Could not connect
to MSN HTTPS server ( bad cookies).
msn.C[2831]:eb_msn_get_chat_room - Not found chatroom
msn.C[789]:eb_msn_logout - Logging out
msn.C[802]:eb_msn_logout - mlad->mc now (nil)
msn.C[1905]:ext_unregister_sock - Unregistering sock 9
msn.C[2565]:ext_closing_connection - Closed connection with
socket 9
msn.C[468]:msn2_LTX_plugin_finish - Returning the ref_count: 0

compiled:

Ayttm version 0.4.6-17
GTK+ version 1.2.10
Features:
Operating system: Linux 2.2.14 (i586)
C Library: GNU libc 2.1.3

compilation: configure options
--prefix=/usr/local/tmp/install/usr/local --disable-esd
--disable-webcam --with-x --disable-nls
--disable-jasper-filter
