It isn't. The server is still sending channel list data after login
completion, which takes an awefuly long time since the list is very
long. We ought to be waiting for the channel list to be downloaded,
after which we close the "Connecting" dialog.

I need to check this while hacking in daytime. If I turn on sound at
this time (it's about 23:00 here) I'll be kicked out of the house ;)

It doesn't need ESD or Arts. Sound is played directly to the audio
device (/dev/audio), so you will hear sound if its driver is
configured.
