Connecting Error

Hi i am using Unreal 3.2.3 and i have configured BOPM to work with my server. When i load up bopm i receive this error....

IRC -> connect(): Unknown error connecting to (my.site.net)

I have looked through teh archives but i hav not found anything related to this errror,

The box that this server is running on usues Debian. I have connected bopm to the other servers without a problem but they are all using mandrake or something other than debien.
