http://main.irssi.org/projects/irssi2.html Wrote a bit of introduction there. irssi2 server is quite usable already, even supports fetching scrollback for existing channels (the rirc client doesn't just yet, maybe today/tomorrow :). Help would be nice with everything: protocol design, server design/coding, support for more protocols (SILC, libgaim?) and more clients (Windows clients too for real world domination!). There's #irssi2 channel in freenode for talking about this. irssi-dev mailing list would work too I think.
