Connection problems

Hi,

Installed irssi through fink a short while ago and played around with
a couple of minor settings and themes, now whenever I try to connect
to a server (gnu/freenode/deviantart) it does the following:

16:40:15 -!- Irssi: Looking up irc.gnu.org
16:40:15 -!- Irssi: Connecting to irc.gnu.org [140.211.166.4] port 6667
16:40:15 -!- Irssi: Connection to irc.gnu.org established
16:40:15 !irc.gnu.org *** Looking up your hostname...
16:40:15 !irc.gnu.org *** Found your hostname, welcome back
16:40:15 !irc.gnu.org *** Checking ident
16:40:21 -!- Irssi: Connection lost to irc.gnu.org

I have tried a number of different servers but it is all the same.

The connection problems only started happening after I put my
powerbook to sleep while it was connected to a server.

Any help would be appreciated.
