Real solid stuff Tom! Much respect!

I have some follow-up questions though:

1. How do I color "mode/#irssi +v nick by ChanServ"?

This has no effect:

formats = {
  "fe-common/core" = {
    chanmode_change = "%Kmode/{channelhilight $0} {mode $1} by {nick $2}%N"
  };
};

And this only colored the "+v nick by ChanServ" part:

abstracts = {
  mode = "%K{comment $*}";
};

2. So far I'm using this to tone down "channel noise":

formats = {
  "fe-common/core" = {
    join = "%K{channick_hilight $0} {chanhost_hilight $1} has joined
{channel $2}%N"
    part = "%K{channick $0} {chanhost $1} has left {channel $2} {reason
$3}%N"
    quit = "%K{channick $0} {chanhost $1} has quit {reason $2}%N"
    quit_once = "%K{channel $3} {channick $0} {chanhost $1} has quit
{reason $2}%N"
  };
};

But is there any way to color their relative timestamps as well? Otherwise
there's not much point in my opinion.

3. "/set show_nickmode_empty off" removes the empty space in the channel <
nick> unless the user has + or @. But how come this doesn't apply to the
/names list as well?

Thanks again!
