Op notices missing on irssi proxy

Is there a reason channel op notices don't show up via irssi proxy connectio=
ns?

Has bugged me for years.

I would have thought they should come through?

Even if I send one from my irssi proxy client, I don't see it, unless I atta=
ch to my irssi console screen.

Any ideas?
