Branding checks.bmp

This may have been answered, but I can't find it in the archives.  I've 
got a branded build that works fine, including the ad files (without 
having to fully-qualify the path), custom title, etc..  Since I noticed 
that the branding docs said to get a copy of checks.bmp, I tried to 
update that bitmap with custom images.  I included it in the installer 
build with overwrite on and verified that it got installed, but the 
graphics in the roster stayed the same.

Is checks.bmp the right file to change?  Is it even possible to brand 
the graphics in the roster (or the tool bar or window title for that 
matter)?  If it is possible, what significance do the multiple images (6 
of them) play in checks.bmp?
