Fwd: make error

To whom it may concern:
 
I downloaded the lftp source last week and went in today to run thru the
install procedures listed in your main directory.  After getting the gnu c and
gnu c++ compilers setup properly, the configure script ran to completion but
with a couple warnings (see attached configure.log file).  
 
When we run the make command, we get the output below (which is also seen in
the configure.log file).  I REALLY wanted to try out this utility for some
vendor interaction we need to get thru with FTPS (or FTP with SSL as they refer
to it).
 
Do you have any idea what might be going on during the compilation/make process
that causes this error?  I'm running AIX 5.2.08.
