Re: New install, new to Licq & Linux. I get 00:47:47: [ERR] Unknown sign on error: 0x1C

Anders, Many thanks.  However, being new to both Licq and Linux, I 
couldn't recompile a toothpick if my life depended on it.  Not even sure 
what the term means, though I have encountered it.  I'd love to use the 
newer version, but when I downloaded it, I couldn't get it to install.  
What do I do?  And is there a good beginners book that will tell me 
these things?
