I will ask the GM developer for the exact meaning of this change, but the
MCP didn't change a lot between gm-1.4pre48 and gm-1.5, just the
repackaging of some files.  

GM is shipped with precompiled firmware.  If you want to recompile the
firmware, you will need to download and install the lanai-gcc, and specify
--enable-maintainer-mode on the configure line to enable the MCP target
in the makefile.
