hi,

is there a limit to the number of 'mibdirs' i can specify in snmp.conf?

at the moment, my snmp.conf looks like this:

mibs ALL
mibdirs
/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/APC:/opt/vdops/sha
re/snmp/mibs/Axis:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/BlackBerry:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mi
bs/BlueArc:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Brocade:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/CheckPo
int:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Cisco:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Compaq:/opt/vdop
s/share/snmp/mibs/DMI:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/DPS:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/
Gnome:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/IANA:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/IBM-CLEAN:/opt/
vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Intel:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Konica:/opt/vdops/share/s
nmp/mibs/Lantronix:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Lexmark:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs
/Linksys:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Microsoft:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Minolta
:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Netopia:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Nokia:/opt/vdops/
share/snmp/mibs/Polycom:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/TippingPoint:/opt/vdops/share
/snmp/mibs/Transition:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Xerox:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mib
s/Xyplex:/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/HP-CLEAN

when i add one more directory to this list ... say ...
"/opt/vdops/share/snmp/mibs/Apple" ... then, when i run a net-snmp
utility, i see the following:

guru> snmptranslate
No log handling enabled - turning on stderr logging
/opt/vdops/etc/snmp/snmp.conf: line 3: Error: Blank line following
/mibs/HP-CLEAN token.
/opt/vdops/etc/snmp/snmp.conf: line 3: Error: Blank line following
/mibs/HP-CLEAN token.
net-snmp: 2 error(s) in config file(s)
USAGE: snmptranslate [OPTIONS] OID [OID]...

  Version: 5.2.1
[...]

i'm trying to use directories to keep my MIB file collection organized ...
what schemes do other folks use to accomplish this?
