No - you wouldn't.

That second line looks like the correct incantation.
(You *have* read the FAQ :-) )

The main things to check is that the DisMan event module
*is* included in the agent.  (It's not currently part of a
default build, though we're planning to change this for 5.3)

Try walking the DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::mteTriggerTable
Do you see anything there?

If you had difficulty in compiling this, it would be
*EXTREMELY* useful to hear the details ASAP.  We're
planning to release the full 5.2.2 version sometime
in the next few weeks - if there's anything that needs
tweaking to compile properly, now is the ideal time to
let us know.
