Hi,
I have some linux servers on my SAN - they boot in a RamDisk and then get
there harddisks via one PCI Qlogic HostBusAdapter over the SAN.
Some server have compiled the module in the kernel (they doesn't boot in a
ramdisk, they boot directly from the SAN) and some not.
On the server with compiled-in module qla2300:
monitor1 ~ # snmpwalk -v 2c -c public 192.168.5.20 hrStorageDescr
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.1 = STRING: Memory Buffers
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.2 = STRING: Real Memory
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.3 = STRING: Swap Space
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.4 = STRING: /
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.5 = STRING: /sys
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.6 = STRING: /var/log
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.7 = STRING: /home/data
On a server were the kernel module qla2300 is compiled as a module:
monitor1 ~ # snmpwalk -v 2c -c public store1 hrStorageDescr
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.1 = STRING: Memory Buffers
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.2 = STRING: Real Memory
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrStorageDescr.3 = STRING: Swap Space
but there are some mountpoints:
store1 ~ # mount
/dev/rd/0 on / type ext2 (rw,noatime)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
udev on /dev type tmpfs (rw,nosuid)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
/dev/sda1 on /var/log type reiserfs (rw,noatime)
/dev/sda2 on /home/data/halde type reiserfs (rw,noatime)
/dev/sda3 on /home/data/mysql/3306 type reiserfs (rw,noatime)
none on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
/dev/sda* comes over the SAN.
I can't built the kernel module on all servers directly in the kernel - is
this a config-thing from net-snmp? I didn't found anything in the docs - any
ideas?
Best Regards,
Oliver
