(Sorry in advance if this has been covered - I don't seem to be able to find the answer on the list or faq) I have compiled the agentx example-demon.c up and have been successful in accessing data from it using the example in the tutorial (http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/tutorial/tutorial-5/toolkit/demon/index.htm l) This ONLY works if I use "ALL: ALL" in hosts.allow (or if I don't have an entry in hosts.deny). I obviously, wouldn't want to run with ALL: ALL if I can avoid it. I have tried a number of service names (snmp, snmpd, example-demon) in /etc/hosts.allow to specific the demon .but if fails each time. I'm using Centos42 which is the same as RHEL42 and net-snmp 5.1.2. Can anybody assist me with the correct entry for /etc/hosts.allow? Thanks Daveh
