I just heard from another SNMP user with regard to Sun Solaris OS that the
Hardware Diagnostic Suite is required to access HOST-Res information using
third party SNMP tool like net-snmp. The basic Sun Management Center is
free, but it only allows access to MIB-II information. Is this true?

Well the first thing to try is a simpler configuration, with *just*
the Net-SNMP agent. Shut down Sun's agent completely, and fire up
ours as a single standalone agent.

   a) Can you query it at all (e.g. for the system group) ?
   b) Can you query it for the HostRes information ?

I'd concentrate on getting that working, before you start trying
anything more complicated like hooking two different agents together.
