There has been a significant amount of 64-bit fixes since 5.1.2. I 
strongly recommend to upgrade. I'm quite confident that 5.3.1.pre2 does 
not have this problem.

If you need a fix for your vendor RPM, file a bug with 
bugzilla.redhat.com, but I wouldn't expect much for FC3.
