Hi Dave! (everyone), My goodness! Don't you sleep at all? ;o) > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] > > Well, it's probably worth starting the agent with the flags > '-Ducd-snmp/disk' and see what gets logged. Also, you say it fails > when you have "disk" entries in the config file. What exactly do you > mean by this? Is the agent process running (but not responsive), or > is it not running at all? Does it log anything during startup? Snmpd is not running at all. I have enabled my call with -L f /var/log/file but nothing gets written, not even why it refused to run. I haven't tried using flags though, but I will. > I'd suggest that might be easier to do when we know *why* things are > breaking. I'm sure lots of people are likewise using a busybox environment as well. And from experience, snmpd runs nicely on it. I only stumbled on this issue since I'm trying to launch all stuff as early as possible. I can do this at the normal rc.X stage (at /sbin/init call). I'm being impatient however. Doing all stuff prior to /sbin/init. Alas! It's too late to turn back now... I'll get to the bottom of this soon enough. And I will inform the list.
