It depends on the agent running on that box.
Without knowing what hardware you're referring to (and what software it runs),
it's impossible to answer that question.

In general, I'd expect any box with a dedicated SNMP agent to be more
likely to work with "live" information.  While a more general SNMP
agent (such as Net-SNMP) is more likely to load and cache the data for
improved performance/stability.

But that's a gross overgeneralisation, and it's quite feasible for
dedicated boxes to cache, or general agents to work with live info.
It all depends on how the relevant programmers have implemented
things.
