Hmmm...  That doesn't feel right.


If the binaries and such are in /bin, etc - then that sounds like a
vendor-supplied distribution.  But if the libraries aer in
/usr/local/lib, then that sounds like a version compiled from source.
 Mixing the two is not going to work.

You'd do best to work exclusively with one or the other.
Either install the vendor-supplied package on your destination system,
or try something like:

    make install DESTDIR=/path/to/intended/destination

on the source system, then copy this directory across.

Which distribution of Linux are you working with?
