Hello. I have approximately 300 servers running snmpd on a private network, with 1 server acting as a management server. Basically, this management server has 1 connection to the private network and 1 connection to my LAN in which I can SSH onto and get to the 300 servers from. I have OpenNMS running on my LAN and want the 300 servers to send snmp information to it via the management server. Looking through the manual page on snmpd.conf I see that there are 2 ways to do this, 1) use agentx (master and subagent) and 2) proxy support. My questions to the mailing list are which one is preferred, and what are the differences between the two?
