Using NET-SNMP API to Receive Traps

I am currently using the NET SNMP API to send get requests and receive GET Responses from my application. I would like to be able to receive traps in this application as well. I have read the documentation and cannot see an obvious way to do this. Am I missing something? Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated.
