Exactly, I've got V3 configuration on a few hundred field 
machines/servers of varying standardized configurations.  The number of 
both is only going to increase, as I'm not even halfway done.

I haven't worked with C in awhile but I'll try my hand at a patch, just 
making sure it hadn't been an intentional omission for architecture reasons.
