Checking the code, there is an architecture-specific routine
netsnmp_arch_set_admin_status()   which is responsible for
handling such a request.

Of the various supported architectures, only Linux actually has
code to act on such an assignment. All other systems (including
FreeBSD) will reject this request.
   If you check your logs, you should see a message informing
you that this routine is not yet implemented.
