Ok... thanks for the initial reply, I got the relevant details from these sites http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg05469.html http://www.net-snmp.org/wiki/index.php/FAQ:Coding_19 snmpsess was missing in my snmpd.conf, I convinced myself thinking trapsink or trap2sink would do the job, but still was concerned about the security details, now comes snmpsess to solve it.
