Creating a MIB?

Hi Guys,

I have a question and wonder if anyone can help me please?

I need to get a value entered into a MIB so that I can then get the information on another server, so rather than write some code to do this, I thought I would use SNMP.

The problem is I don't even know where to start... :)

So im trying to get a temperature reading from a serial thermometer which isnt a problem, but then im not sure how to go about storing it in SNMP, is there a set of temporary storage to put this in? Do I need to create a new set of MIBs?

Any help will be gratefully received.
