How to register v5.4.1 agent on IPv6 addresses?

  I set up a v6 address on my device and can ping the link local address
from another host on the same link:

[on device running net-snmp v5.4.1 snmpd]

root# ip -6 addr show dev eth2
4: eth2: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 1400 qlen 10000
    inet6 2001::44/64 scope global
       valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
    inet6 fe80::209:edff:fe00:16c9/64 scope link

[on my Windows workstation; has multiple interfaces so I specify the
correct source using "%5"]

C:\Temp>ping6 fe80::209:edff:fe00:16c9%5

  When I try to add "agentaddress udp6:161" to snmpd.conf I get the
following errors:

snmpd[26454]: getaddrinfo: udp6 Temporary failure in name resolution
snmpd[26454]: Error opening specified endpoint "udp6:161"
snmpd[26454]: Server Exiting with code 1

  How can I convince snmpd to listen to the v4 AND v6 interfaces?  I
thought that "udp6:161" was appropriate considering the LISTENING
ADDRESSES section of the snmpd man page.  Note that "agentaddress
udp:161" works fine on the v4 interface only.
