Hi,

I am trying to upgrade snmp v2c agent for v3. I did configuration settings
provided in README.snmpv3 (using net-snmp-5.4.2.1)
I do use some proprietary mib modules using dlmod configured in snmpd.conf.

Through "net-snmp-config --create-snmpv3-user" the users and traces are
copied under /var/net-snmp/snmpd.conf for persistence data and under
/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf.

which is perfect.

But In actually my agent uses a different snmpd.conf file following is the
execution way:

snmpd -f -Lo -C -c /opt/snmp-agent/snmpd.conf -M
/opt/snmp-agent/mibs:/usr/share/snmp/mibs -I
dlmod,vacm_conf,vacm_vars,vacm_context,snmpNotifyTable,snmpTargetAddrEntry,snmpTargetParamsEntry

Here I use -C for not to include other config files. Problem is if we copy
user info, createUser line from /var/net-snmp/snmp.conf tp
/opt/snmp-agent/snmpd.conf then I am observing errors.

Also If I provide there other two config file at command with -c and a
comma like -c /opt/snmp-agent/snmpd.conf, /var/net-snmp/snmpd.conf

then observing following response at snmpgetnext:

"snmpgetnext: Unknown user name (Sub-id not found: (top) -> system)"

May I know what is the issue and how to deal with this to get the working
v3 agent, where I am doing wrong settings?

Any help and clues, suggestion are appreciated.

Thanks.....
