What is the exact command you are using?

   $  snmpget ..... myColumn.1."ABC"
or
   $  snmpget ..... myColumn.1.\"ABC\"

Remember that the shell will normally swallow the double quote characters,
so these need to be escaped so that they can be passed through to the
snmpget (or similar) command.
