You should be using your distribution precompiled net-snmp package if
you don't know how to handle a manually compiled one.
That said, IIRC, you are on Ubuntu, right?
Take a look at checkinstall, and tweak the distro's net-snmp package's
initd scripts, and tweak the PATHs pointing to your binaries
accordingly. Regarding the automatic start of your daemon after a
reboot, check your init daemon docs, (I don't use Ubuntu, but it should be
one of sysvinit, upstart, or something else).
FTR, installing under /home/$USER is quite wrong IMHO. You'd be better
off installing under /usr/local.
