Preamble OBJECT-TYPE SYNTAX Uint64Type MAX-ACCESS read-write STATUS current DESCRIPTION "Preamble" ::= {configEntry 15 } Initial read looks like this: # snmpget -v2c -c public 192.168.60.11 MY-MIB:Preamble.1 MY-MIB::Preamble.1 = STRING: I try to set without success: # snmpset -v2c -c public 192.168.60.11 MY-MIB::Preamble.1 x 1122334455667788 *** buffer overflow detected ***: snmpset terminated # snmpset -v2c -c public 192.168.60.11 MY-MIB::Preamble.1 x 112233445566778 MY-MIB::Preamble.1: Bad value notation (112233445566778) # snmpset -v2c -c public 192.168.60.11 MY-MIB::Preamble.1 x 11223344556677 MY-MIB::Preamble.1: Value out of range (Bad string length :: {(8)}) Am running under debian wheezy so would like to stay on 5.4.3 if possible.
