a Question about a down host

I an running NetSaint 0.0.7b3 I am trying to answer why we did get notified when a server crashed and burned. I am suspecting that the hostchecks are taking precedence over any service checks. here is what happened a server went down, netsaint detected this, but did not send out notifications. The server was not in a hostgroup but did have a valid service check. If there was a valid service check why didn't a notification get sent out for the outage? -- Scott D.
