Mike,

Assuming you already have all of your hostgroups, contacts and contact
groups defined. All you have to do is implement authentication to Netsaint
(see the documentation), and create an apache account using htpasswd (see
the man page).

EXAMPLE (not following syntax for simplicity)

Host=server1
Host=server2
Host=router1

Hostgroup(servers)=server1,server2;admins
Hostgroup(network)=router1;cisco

Contact=joeb;joe blow
Contact=janeb;jane blow
Contact=bsmith;Bob Smith

Contactgroup(admins)=joeb,janeb
Contactgroup(cisco)=bsmith

If you create an htpasswd file with account joeb and janeb, when they login
to apache they will only see the servers listed in the hostgroup "servers".

Richard,
How do I set a user to only view on hostgroup? What file do I modify?

Mike

Subject: [netsaint] Restrictions for logging into Netsaint

Hello all,
Does anyone know how to restrict what specific users can and cannot see. I
would like to give certain people access to only one hostgroup and restrict
them to that hostgroup only. Is this possible with Netsaint?
