Mike,
Here's some guesses: you are running on Linux or Unix platform.
1) Suggest you modify the /etc/sendmail.cf file, item DS ("smart" relay
host) to be 'DSmail.eiiecomm.com'
This will force all mail to be processed by your Lotus Notes SMTP gateway.
2) Try to ping mail.eiiecomm.com, as it seem that sendmail was unable to
connect.
a) sendmail not able to connect could be a number of reasons: incorrect
default route set on the Unix machine; fireware preventing connection; lotus
notes SMTP gateway security preventing connection.
b) recheck if mail.eiiecomm.com is the correct internal hostname to use

Subject: [netsaint] Netsaint / sendmail question
All,
I have a sendmail question for you. My company uses Lotus Notes for email
with an internal mail server (mail.eiiecomm.com). I am trying to get
sendmail to communicate with with my mail server so I can receive alerts
from Netsaint. I have entered entries in the hosts file but that does not
seem to help.
Do you have any suggestions?
I have included the last few lines of the sendmail log.
