I'm not sure about the features of a Hot Little Therm, but just for
temperature measurement, we're using a TempTrax
(http://www.weathershop.com/temptrax.htm, Model F) connected to a serial
port on a SuSE machine. I can mail you our (rather hackish) scripts.

This is depending upon what type of unit to monitor temperature? I would
like to get more info on what you are purchasing. I would assume that the
unit must either have a network connection or be attaced to another machine
to collect snmp information correct?
