Nrpe: "Are we allowed to connect to the host?"

Hi all,

Problem: When using nrpe - i get the error message,
"are we allowed to connect to the host?"

Scenario: The plugins are all correctly configured as
everything works 99% of the time. Sometimes (perhaps
when network congestion is at its height) i get this
error message relating to multiple hosts. I have
played with timeout values (roughly at 240 seconds
now) and the usual "timeouts" with plugin "warning and
critical" have stopped. 

Usually this error message is received if a plugin is
not correctly configured (on remote host) where the
"allowed_hosts" parameter in nrpe.cfg is not correct.
The nrpe.cfg in question is correctly configured and
therefore this error doesnt make sense globally.

Any ideas ??
