A problem with renew popup

I run both Authservice and Gateway on same machine and I occure weird 
problem. Gateway is in Passive mode. I tested it with WinXP SP1 with IE 
and Firefox 1.0 - everything was correct. But when I tried it WinXP SP2 
and IE (other machine), popup window appeared but never perform renew 
and machine was after 450 s cut off.
Where is problem? Is it some IE issue? What is the real difference 
between captive and passive mode?
