Subject: [NoCat] Most users never get splashed

hi folks,

I have a basic question, thanks for any help you can offer. I'm hoping
someone can tell me what I need to do to get the system to work so that
everyone who connects gets a splash.

I have a Metrix Mark I connected to a NoCat gateway operating in Open mode.
The first user who connects through the Metrix board gets the splash screen
but all subsequent users never see the splash. I have NAT running on the
Metrix board. The NoCat logs on the gateway only show the first connection
and never show that anyone else has attempted to connect. The connection
always shows the MAC of the eth0 port on the Soekris board. I figure this
is probably because the NAT is altering the connection information so it all
looks the same.

When I disable NAT on the Metrix, the system won't make any connections at
all. I'm thinking that I need to configure the addresses and gateways
differently, but nothing that I've tried, short of leaving the NAT running
works.

The system details are currently:

NoCatGateway:
device	IP Connects to Services
Equipment
eth0 192.168.91.2	Metrix eth0 NoCat
Intel inBusiness 10/100
eth1 192.168.2.100	Router Intel
inBusiness 10/100

Metrix Mark I:
device	IP Connects to Services
Equipment
eth0 192.168.91.1	Gateway eth0	NAT Soekris 4526
wlan0 192.168.89.1	wireless users	DHCP Prism
802.11b Mini PCI card

Router:
device	IP Connects to Services
Equipment
Lan 192.168.2.1 ISP NAT
SMC Barricade 7004ABR

I'm not sure if this matters, but DHCP assigns the wireless users ip
addresses in the range of 192.168.89.10 through 192.168.89.250 and the
gateway given is 192.168.89.1, the ip address of the wlan0 card on the
Metrix Mark I. The wlan0 thinks its gateway is 192.168.91.1.

I'd appreciate any help you might be able to offer,

Thanks,

/Rob
