That makes sense. I kinda figured they were still using DHCP so not 
technically static, but I'm pretty confident that if I never changed my 
hardware (or MAC) my IP would never change.

I would assume they'd have load balancer and failover redundancy to the 
point where DHCP data would be quite non-volatile but I could be 
wrong....my ISP has displayed ineptitude of that magnitude lol. But most 
worth their salt should have quite a bit of redundancy.

That must be what's happening with my ISP. Mac change = IP change. I 
think that scheme is fairly common as I've seen it with a different ISP.
