Gang: It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the availability of OpenNMS 1.6.0. This is the first new production (stable) release in over three years. Virtually every aspect of OpenNMS has been improved from the previous 1.2 production version. Greatly increased scalability, a new user interface, and a plethora of new features are just a few reasons to switch to the new version. Many thanks to the OpenNMS community for making this happen. <advertisement> I also hope I can be forgiven for this small ad. Due to the many changes between 1.2 and 1.6, the OpenNMS Group is offering a new services engagement called "Pimp My OpenNMS". For US$4000 (plus travel expenses) an OpenNMS consultant will visit your site, upgrade your software and train you on the major features in the new version. It is aimed mainly at 1.2 users (due to possible database upgrade issues), but any user of OpenNMS can benefit from some one on one time with an OpenNMS guru. See http://www.opennms.com/services.html for more information. </advertisement As always, we hope you find the 100% free and open OpenNMS useful. -T _______________________________________________________________________ Tarus Balog, OpenNMS Maintainer Main: +1 919 533 0160 The OpenNMS Group, Inc.
