Log files not updating

ONS Horizon 18.0.2-1 running on Centos 7.3 x86-64 VM. Centos update also disastrously updated Horizon to v20. Reverted to a previous snapshot of the VM (Jan 27 17) and everything appears to be working; however none of the log files are updating and entries all end on Jan 27 2017. What could be missing from allowing the log files to be written? Would there have been a change in permissions/ownership with reverting to saved snapshot? Any insight appreciated.
