I just received the server I will be migrating my current OpenNMS
installation to today. I was hoping to get help with the RAID setup and OS
(CentOS) installation. I have read all of the performance recommendations
and it suggested to install the OS, database, logs and rrd files on separate
disk. I am currently monitoring just under 1000 nodes on my existing 2
array setup. I had to turn off thresholding because of performance problems
but want to turn it back on as soon as I get my new server built. The new
server has 6 X 15K disk, 12 GB memory and 2 X 6 core processors. I want to
make sure I have the best RAID setup and OS installation possible. To get
to the point; should I setup 1, 2 or 3 arrays? Where should I put what as
far as database, jrb files, etc?
Thank you in advance,
Robert
