Trying to install opennms 1.8.7-1 in CentOS release 5.5 (Final) in a Virtual server with 1gb ram and no swap partition: Followin the link: http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Installation:Yum <http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Installation:Yum> in the "Running the OpenNMS Installer" section I get: # /opt/opennms/bin/runjava -s runjava: Looking for an appropriate JRE... runjava: Checking for an appropriate JRE in JAVA_HOME... runjava: /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_23/bin/java is not Java 1.5 or newer. runjava: "/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_23/bin/java" is not an appropriate JRE runjava: Checking JRE in user's path: "/usr/bin/java"... runjava: /usr/bin/java is not Java 1.5 or newer. runjava: did not find an appropriate JRE in user's path: "/usr/bin/java" runjava: searching for a good JRE... runjava: /usr/java/default/bin/java is not Java 1.5 or newer. runjava: /usr/java/latest/bin/java is not Java 1.5 or newer. runjava: /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_23/bin/java is not Java 1.5 or newer. runjava: did not find an appropriate JRE while searching for one runjava: Could not find an appropriate JRE. runjava: You can set a particular JRE by using runjava: "runjava -S <JRE>". *I was install: *jdk-6u23-linux-i586-rpm.bin from SUN *I was do: *export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.6.0_23 *Then if I run:* # java -version Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Could not create the Java virtual machine. # *And if I run:* # java -Xmx64m -version java version "1.6.0_23" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_23-b05) Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode) # # which java /usr/bin/java # help please!
