A little googling reveals that this may be due to differences in archtecture between the target archtecture and the architecture of the build machine, but I have no way of knowing what was used to build the jicmp code distributed in the RPM. I have tried to install OpenNMS on two different machines today, the second being a fresher than fresh install of CentOS 5.5. I followed each step in the getting started guide to the letter and am still unable to get '/opt/opennms/bin/install -dis' to run. It fails at what seems to be the first step, loading libjimcp.so (see listing 1). I checked that /usr/lib/libjicmp.so exists, and the RPM is found/installed as well. I have tried running the install with the '-l /usr/lib/libjicmp.so' option, and it still fails. I've set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include /usr/lib to no avail either. Finally, as a last resort, I tried running jicmp from the command prompt (as noted on the wiki) and it also fails (listing 3). I am completely out of ideas, so I'm hoping that someone here will be able to help.
