Pegah, I've gotten mine installed on Ubuntu 10.04.4 64-bit LTS. I would try a version of Ubuntu that has better support, either 10.04 or 12.04 LTS. For the Java part I ended up using OpenJDK 6 in place of Java 6. After that I no other problems. I also followed the same instructions as you have. However, every time I try to install OpenNMS by running (as the root): sudo apt-get install opennms it fails!! It says there are dependency problems for example: opennms-webapp-jetty depends on opennms-server (= 1.10.3-1); however: Package opennms-server is not configured yet. And at the end it says: Errors were encountered while processing: postfix bsd-mailx opennms-server opennms-webapp-jetty opennms E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) I have copy-pasted the entire error message below. Also when I run the code in that "Try it!" note, I get the same error message. Please let me know how I can solve this problem, thank you.
