The authentication used by OpenNMS is provided by Spring Security
(previously acegi). It appears that JA-SIG CAS *is* supported:

http://docs.spring.io/spring-security/site/docs/3.0.x/reference/cas.html

You can go to (on RHEL):

http://docs.spring.io/spring-security/site/docs/3.0.x/reference/cas.html

and look at:

applicationContext-spring-security.xml

and you should be able to get it working. Search on the wiki for pages
referencing LDAP for examples on how that works for clues.

Good luck, and please share if you figure it out (feel free to add a
page to the wiki).
