Hi!

Did some more „playing around“ with postgresql but had no luck so far.
Even with a fresh installation and new postgresql data folder I still get the ‘syntax error at or near "$1"’ problem.

You guys all use Postgresql 9 and have no problems running that install script?

Oh, and is there a way to make those DB changes manually? Except comparing the table layout to the content of the create.sql file.
And a way to run the upgrade script without running the database part and just do the file based upgrades? Or documentation on all those upgrade changes, so I can do them all manually, if nothing else helps.

Best regards
Sebastian

Hi! Thanks for your help!

I just reimported all databases via dumps and reused the pg_hba.conf but used the new postgresql.conf and only moved those settings over from the old config which were present in the new one. So I guess it’s mostly default.
The only extension I installed is iplike2.
I haven’t installed any contrib packages.
I attached my postgresql.conf file (if this works….). Maybe some changes to the “COMPATIBILITY” section are needed?

Best regards
Sebastian

Perhaps you’ve already solved such a problem or have any ideas what it’s causing it – and I would be grateful for any (profound) suggestions ☺

Have you made any customizations to PostgreSQL 9?
