Are you referring to local or remote IPs (clients behind NAT). In general, each user needs a different IP from other users both locally and remotely. You can setup private IP addresses on the server side with a single public side IP and NAT them back out a single IP. I have not had much luck with multiple clients behind the same NAT device, but haven't really tried much either.
