[Proftpd-user] Login error with SqlAuthType=Backend with MySQL5.7+

Hi,

 

With MySQL 5.7+ I cannot auth users with backend authtype, I get an:

SQLAuthType 'Backend'

2017-01-04 22:08:23,041 mod_sql/4.3[5973]: entering     mysql cmd_checkauth

2017-01-04 22:08:23,048 mod_sql/4.3[5973]: password mismatch

2017-01-04 22:08:23,048 mod_sql/4.3[5973]: exiting      mysql cmd_checkauth

2017-01-04 22:08:23,048 mod_sql/4.3[5973]: 'Backend' SQLAuthType handler
reports failure

 

 

I got this log using -d 10 and sqllogfile.

Is there an way to get something more verbose?

I even tried to recreate the password with mysql password() but the HASH is
exactly the same.
